BEAUTIFUL MOLE-MEN ADVENTURES     by Russ Woods

Cato was a mole-man. He kept the bottoms of onions as pets & would sneak up & tend to them from below late at night. He would sing them soft songs about reeds & camping. Cato had beautiful furniture in his home, which was a dirt-hole. He put things on shelves & polished the dresser & took things off the shelves & put new things on them. He hung a blanket on his wall that had a picture of two peacocks in love on it. Cato had a dream once of boat diamonds that sailed down a wonderful river of sun-ghosts. When he woke up he thought about all the mole-men in the world. He wanted to clean them with his tongue & handle them with cat paws. Mole-men birthday parties involve covering an entire tunnel in brightly colored thread & then running down it, falling & laughing & getting tangled all up in it.
